Adventist
Medical Center (AMC), located in southeast Portland, is a non-profit, 302-bed
acute care facility, offering a full range of inpatient, outpatient and
emergency services throughout the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. With
over 2,100 employees, AMC is a major Portland area employer. In 2008 AMC treated
11,114 inpatients, 111,596 outpatients and 45,787 patients in the emergency room
as well as 24,779 home care visits.
Adventist Medical Center is part of
Adventist Health, a not-for-profit, faith-based
health system operating in California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. Founded on
the Seventh-day Adventist heritage of Christian health care, Adventist Health is
comprised of 18 hospitals with more than 2,800 beds, nearly 18,000 employees,
